Why CS Signal Monitor?
If you own an AirPort capable Mac and you are anything like us at AlkSoft, you are constantly checking the Airport control strip module to check up on your signal strength. By now, you've probably realized that the control strip module isn't very precise, and keeping the control strip open all the time gets pretty annoying. CS Signal monitor offers a more precise signal meter and an additional noise level meter all while taking up significantly less screen space than an extended control strip. Even better, you can place it anywhere on your screen making sure it doesn't get in the way of whatever you are working on!

CS Signal Monitor talks to the Airport software and hardware on your Mac to obtain values for the signal strength and noise level of the currently connected network. This information is then displayed in an easy to understand manner in a global floating window (commonly known as a "windoid"). There are four different window types to choose from, and you can position them anywhere on the screen. Additionally, they are always visible, so you don't need to keep switching between programs to check on your connection status.

CSSM was created because the Airport control strip module just doesn't cut it. With only five possible signal levels, the control strip module is very imprecise. CSSM makes a nice alternative to relying on the control strip.

CS Signal Monitor development is driven entirely by user input. If you have any suggestions or bug reports, just send an email!
